Drop ins welcome all week and extra open studio hours!

Drop in when you can:

Did you know that I am always willing to prorate camps for the days that you can come if you can’t make all 4 days (or both for pre-k)?! We’d love to have you and/or your children in the studio when it works for you. Register through the links here for full camps as the stand and use the code lastchance17 to get 15% off the already reduced prices or just drop in when you can and we’ll prorate your bill for the amount of time/number of days you can join in!

This weeks camps are quiet and on SALE so we’d love to have you! We have plenty of room in both our morning pre-k mini camps and our afternoon Glitter and Glow Camp for elementary students.

Monday and Tuesday join in for Dinosaurs and Fossils in our Dino Stomp Camp from 9:30-12pm with lots of fun prehistorically themed art and plenty of play and snack time build in to keep our little friends active and engaged!

Thursday we have an Ooey Gooey Morning creating all kinds of sensory fun from colorful foam to silly slime. From 9:30-12 you can enjoy all those messy projects you’ve thought about doing, but you can’t imagine finding a place for in your home!

Glitter and Glow was a favorite last summer where all of our art materials either shimmer and shine in the light or glow in the dark! This k-5 drop off camp runs from 1-4pm Monday through Thursday!

Bonus Open Studio Hours!

With quieter camps we’ve found it totally possible to open the studio up to drop ins while still keeping camp running smoothly so Tuesday-Thursday the studio will have open studio projects ready and availability from 2-4pm!

Art and Ice Cream Schedule Change

Our weekly Tuesday evening Art and Ice Cream Open Studio will be just a little earlier this week from 5-6:30 instead of 5:30-7:30 as we reach out to our neighbors in the Lowry Grove Neighborhood and provide a meal to support them as they prepare for this challenging week with the closing of the park. If you would like to know how to help this community in their move to their next chapter feel free to send me an email at createdtogrow@gmail.com and I will put you in contact with the volunteer coordinators.

See you in the Studio,

Ariane

We Whirled You SAVE!

Art-A-Whirl Special

It may have been a rainy Art-A-Whirl, but it was a wonderful weekend to make art together! Our community collaboratives bounced around NE and were full of enthusiastic artists and thankfully most of our stops were indoors this year. We also have a great Art-a-Whirl Weekend Special on our summer programs and, because our website was a little wonky this weekend, I’m extending it through WEDNESDAY! Sign up for any summer program and enter the code AAW2017 now through this Wednesday May 24th and get 20%off you summer registration. This code is stackable with our Take3 and Take5 codes if you are signing up for multiple camps.

Our 2017 tour!

NE Farmers’ Market

We kicked off our weekend at the rainy NE Farmers market where you can find us every other Saturday now through the end of August! Now that we got the rain out of the way for a season we’ll hope for sunny days to support our local growers, businesses and get crafty in the kids tent!

Hennepin County Library Installations

Then I headed out to complete our Community Hives at the NE and Pierre Bottineau Libraries! Check out these wonderful installations designed by our community!! They will be on display for the next three weeks and at Pierre Bottineau they have the supplies to make more bees so you can even add to the installation if you stop in when their wonderful children’s librarian is working!

Intertwine-A-Whirl

I’ve been lucky enough to have found this incredible group of individuals who meet at Eastside Neighborhood Services on a regular basis and was excited to join them in some really cool collaborative work. If you want to know more about Intertwine head on over to their website: https://intertwinene.org/

For Easter we built nests on the concept of Build, Grow, Fly:

and through Intertwine-A-Whirl we created the birds ready to fly away from them:

So that is the story of how we whirled and how you can SAVE!

See you in the studio,

Summer Camp Sale!

I figure there’s nothing mothers need more than a little time off and a little savings so for this week only Early Bird Prices have returned so you can plan yourself a little summer break by enrolling your children in our 4 day half day camps AND save money while you’re at it that you can squirrel away to get your self a treat while you are getting a little escape from the daily grind! For those pre-k moms, sorry I still don’t offer drop offs, but I DO offer a morning that is all planned and organized so you don’t have to and you can still snag the early bird price savings too!

May is $5 drop in month!

When the weather gets nice the studio gets a little quieter before our summer camps fill up with busy summer fun so during the month of May is a great time to drop in and try us for the first time. New families get a $5 drop in rate (regular $15) for their first time in any of our pre-k or homeschool classes.

 See you in the Studio!

Schedule Changes and Cancellations:

This week’s schedule is going to be a bit different as one of my children has a week of many appointments and a short inpatient hospital stay. All is well and we have lots of great help from family and friends at home, but our hours at the studio will be quite limited. Most regular series classes at the studio stand aside from Creative Kidlit on Tuesday afternoon which is cancelled. There will be no Tuesday drop in play, open studios or adult events in the studio or classes at the Farmhouse Market. Thanks for the well wishes from our regular clients who’ve shown support for us during this busy and challenging week. We’ll be back in full swing next week and I’d love to see you at the library events this weekend!

This week’s remaining schedule:

Artistic Adventures After School Class 3:45-6pm, Tuesday

First Art: 9:30-10:15, Wednesday and Thursday

Homeschool Arts Collective, 10:30-11:30 Thursday

Crafty Caregivers 10:15-12:00, Friday

See you in the studio,

Ariane

Drop ins are ALWAYS welcome! Lots of new Spring fun to come!

Rainy Days are Great for making art!

As spring weather brings us great days for playing OUTSIDE, we get a little quieter inside in our series classes, but we still want you to join us getting creative even if the nice weather makes it hard for you to commit to a weekly series. With the addition of more regular series classes this year, I’m hearing rumors that people didn’t know that it’s ok to just bop in here and there or to take different classes as they suit your schedule. All of our pre-k classes welcome drop ins, so on gloomy days, don’t worry about having registered or not or having been here before or not, just drop in and join in whenever it works for you. Drop in rates for open studios and classes are $15/class, but now through the end of May you can drop into your first class for $5! We also offer class packages at $60 for 5 classes/open studios or $100 for 10 classes/open studios and additional discounts for families with siblings. These passes allow for the maximum flexibility in how and when you join in at the studio.

Spring Break fun is HERE with a great reason to join in this Wednesday!

It may be a Wintery scene outside, but we’ll be kicking off this first of our Spring break programming weeks with  Springy Art Projects Monday morning from 9-12. We have plenty of other plans to fill your Spring Break with fun for the whole family together or for your elementary aged kiddo on their own. Drop-ins are welcome to any class this week! Registration or an email that you’ll be joining in is always helpful, but I’m always prepared for extras and look forward to lots of art making friends during these break times. If you break isn’t for a couple of weeks, don’t worry most of this great programming will pop up during your week off as well! I think I have a little something for most of the NE Metro school districts.

Pay special attention to our Wednesday programming or take care of your summer camp registration on Wednesday as we’ll be giving 20% of all class fees and purchases that day to the Immigrant Law Center of MN as a Part of Minnesota Small Businesses United Restaurants Rising Event. Find out more about the event and other participating retailers and restaurants at restaurantrising.com
